stay away from fish and seafood due to the high levels of mercury. some the fish that have the most mercury are tuna and catfish. you should never eat king mackeral, shark, or swordfish. if you do eat fish limit the amount to only 6 ounces a week. and don't eat the fish that are bottom feeders because they have the most mercury in them. mercury can cause brain damage in the baby.
don't eat uncooked sandwhich meat or hotdogs. there is a very dangerous bacteria that you can get from these called listeriosis. this bacteria can cause miscarriages. that actually happened to my nutritionist.
don't eat foods that say "sugar free" because doctors aren't sure about the effects that artificial sweeteners have on babies.
don't eat unpasteurized, soft, or mexican style cheeses.
and never eat or drink anything with caffeine or alcohol in it.
you should talk to your doc or nutritionist about a more in depth list of foods to avoid.

One of the main things you want to avoid during pregnancy is salty foods. All the salt will make you retain water and make your feet swell. Also you should avoid getting meats from the deli. The deli coolers are a breeding ground for a bactiria that although is not harmful to you can be harmful to your unborn baby. It is okay to get prepackaged lunchmeat still. Make sure you drink plenty of water it will help keep your feet from swelling, and keep you out of the hospital. GOOD LUCK!!!! and BEST WISHES!!!

My dr told me to avoid fish containing high mercury, any raw or undercooked meat. Also he recently told me to avoid fresh salads, due to all of the e-coli scares. And not too much caffeine, he said no more than 4 sodas a day. Good Luck.

Any types of sushi, undercooked beef, pork or chicken. These are extremely harmful to the fetus. I was told to completely avoid any restaurant at all that served any raw meats to avoid cross contamination. You are also supposed to cut back on tuna fish because it contains high amounts of mercury. Anytime you handle hamburger meat, be sure you wash your hands very well.

I've been told to stay away from foods with MSG (monosodium glutamate) in them...I've found that a lot of foods have that. Also unpasteurized milks and cheeses and of course raw meats, fish, and eggs. There are a few more, but I don't remember them right now.

Anything that will make you fat beyond baby weight and stay away from too much starchy, greasy and spicy food, especially later on when you have a lot of pressure on your stomach. The heartburn sucks. Just be smart and stay away from the stuff you should while you aren't pregnant like alcohol and caffeine and junk food.

Don't eat any raw meat, fish or shellfish. Stay away from soft cheeses such as Brie. Cold deli meats should be heated thoroughly. Your caffeine intake should be less. Stay away from anything with raw eggs in it. Don't eat any fish or seafood high in mercury, such as shark or swordfish; don't eat more than two servings of seafood a week.

You should avoid eating raw uncooked food like sushi and even something as harmless as cookie batter. Eat folic acid every day!
