Coffee, tea, smoking, sun exposure, general allergies, lipstick allergies, lip sucking are some of the possible causes of darkening of the lips.
Lips can turn dark due to pigmentation caused by sun exposure due to or hormonal changes. When the acidity (pH) of your skin changes it causes dark toned lips. Some component of lipstick is the most common reason. So you need to use a good lipstick and never use an expired one. Stain from foods or drinks as in tea or coffee is another cause. The nicotine from smoking could highly stain the lips also, aside from the pH change it can cause.
If none of the above possible causes is applicable to you, then there could be something wrong on your health. If that is the case, you need to see a doctor. Take care!♥

You don't mention anything about your general health so I am taking a stab in the dark when I tell you that a compromised blood flow can cause not only your lips to turn dark or blue as we call it in the health care profession but your nail beds will show color change as well.
Since you have been able to see the change in just a short week I strongly suggest that you see a Dr.

once you're effective this is not any longer 'staining' out of your cosmetics, your ethnic historic past might have some thing to do with it. Lip colour darkens somewhat with age for each guy or woman yet go searching at kinfolk and spot if this is achieveable that that's a genetic or racial propensity on your loved ones. no longer being a doctor or having a scientific historic past, i've got not got the rest for you.. a mild coating of Vaseline interior the evenings to maintain them comfortable and supple won't harm the two. The vaseline is one product that's surely absorbed devoid of after consequence different than keeping softness. =)

Assuming nothing else in your life has changed, I would call your Doctor in the morning and get an appointment ASAP. Let's rule out the more serious possibilities first - and you cannot do that here. Good luck!
