A Perfect World
starring Clint Eastwood, Kevin Costner and Laura Dern

At the end, when Costner is dying and he shoves all the stolen money into the little boy's Casper the Ghost costume so he can have a better life. Then in the final shot, after Costner is dead, you see that the money is falling out of a tear in the back of the costume and flying away on the wind. That still chokes me up.

Gallipoli. It's an Aussie war film with Mel Gibson in it. Although it is a war film, it really has a sad story line instead of just blood and guts. It was the only movie I've cried in.

IL Postino. The actor, Massimo, plays a character who dies at the end of the film and he actually did die the day after the picture wrapped.
He knew his condition was terminal but finished the film.

These probably aren't the saddest movies I've ever seen but they made me cry. The Family Stone and Steel Magnolias.
