...why are so many hundred women still raped every minute? Do you think that teaching women that a 'low blow' is a 'garanteed' escape is giving them a false sense of security? Why aren't women informed that a 'low blow' doesn't usually paralize a man, but merely stalls him? Isn't that information detrimental to the safety of women?

My apologies for any spelling or grammar errors. Also 'low blow' meaning a knee/kick to the croch.

I'm glad your notifying women about this i actuall thaught it would be worse than just a stalling for the male WOW thanx 4 that info...but i dought if she cant low blow him she can spray him w/ the pepper spray. It would be a great thing if a suvivor of this situation would let us know how she got through. ♥ Ush

first of all we as women are not taught that a "low blow"is a "guaranteed"escape from getting raped. It is a knowledge that you have to know .As a women you have to take every means that is necessary to protect yourself from an attacker.....I do not care what it is a kick to the crotch, punch in the face and gut,I mean there are many things we can suggest to this but the fact of the matter is that fear out weighs strength..and in the moment some have a hard enough time looking at their attacker let alone putting up a fight.....I am not sure what kind of answer you are asking besides the kick in the crotch...but gaining any time is better than none

I actually see your point. In movies, the woman gives her offender 1 'low blow' and he's down forever. That is definitely unrealistic. It really does give women a false sense of security. Now, I'm not sure what other tactics there are that are more effective. Men out-strength women, so any means for the woman to defend herself should be viewed as viable.

You are generally correct. Women's self defense classes generally recommend only trying to grab and squeeze the testicals if you get your hands on them. That's pretty much guaranteed to incapacitate an attacker for long enough to get away. As a first step they tend to prefer an eye gouge to a low blow..

Just hitting or kicking at an attacker's groin at the beginning of an assault is much less likely to work and will make it probable that the attacker will beat the **** out of you until he's sure you won't try it again.

Women have to and should use whatever means necessary to protect themselves, whether it be a knee/kick to the crotch, a chop to the throat, or shooting them in the head. Whatever works within the woman's means. And, as a woman, I don't ever remember being told that "a kick in the crotch" was all that was needed to get out of a dangerous situation. I think your mistaken in thinking that most women believe this. NO woman I know believes this (which is not to say we don't believe we should at least try it.)

Most men know enough to protect their genitals. And sometimes the low blow, if not hard enough, causes an adrenalin rush in the recipient, making him even more dangerous. My martial arts instructor doesn't recommend it for that reason. That's not to say it's never a good idea, but you need other options.

Sadly, kicking a guy in the nuts use to be encouraged as a self-defense tactic. It does stall him, yes, but it gives her time to run. And she's encouraged to run, screaming, so as to attract attention.

However, newer self-defense classes, don't encourage women to kick him in the nuts. They are actually taught to fight. Many women are now taking martial arts as means of self-defense. But we are encouraged not to use it unless we "really have to".

With a flip of the wrist, and turn of the knee, we can have a guy on the ground at the snap of finger, which gives us time to make a run for it.

If you have enough adrenalin you might not notice the hit

and you can squeeze out the pain if you try.. women have a pain threshold 10x that of men.. but we can learn to build ours.

and it only hurts if it hits your balls.. so if you dick gets in the way then your saved

other then that.... why ask this..

I don't want to think about that

I don't think there is such a thing as a guaranteed escape but a girl needs to do what a girl needs to do against rapist animals. Kick him in the nuts, gouge his eyes, bite him til he bleeds..whatever it takes to give her time to scream loudly , run fast and report the sicko. It's her body, not his.

No, a "low blow" is not a guaranteed escape. She should carry pepper spray, a cell phone, and hopefully she can run fast.
