I own a PS2, but for the past 8 months it has been only reading blue backed disks. Is there anythink i can do, to make it work again? without getting rit of it or selling it. I went to gamestop and the guy there recomend that i send it to sony. to get it fixed, but he siad it is going to cost me. Is there a cheaper way?

Try putting in a DVD cleaner, the inside my be dirty. Also clean the game discs.

In the Bottom part of ur PS2 are square thingys, take them off and then their are screws, take out the screws and carefully take that part of, then u will need jewerly screw for tiny screws, after that take that part off and carefully pick out the dust,hairs, and other stuff stucked in the lens and beyond......after its all clean put back the tiny screws on and the bigger screws and voula...u can play for at least 2 -5 months till this problem happens again.

Send it to sony, the companies can usually pinpoint problems right away. and it cant cost more than what was payed 4 it

to be honest sending it to sony is the best way because....i will bet that if they can fix it they will give you a new one (or atleast sell it really cheap :)
