My father has never met her (neither have I), and now we would like to find her. We first want to contact her mother. We know her name, and that she lives in Marrakesh. What is the best way to go about searching for her? Any advice would be greatly appreciated...serious answers only, please.

Well, she isn't missing...we just want to meet her. We have no adress, but we do have both of their names. She's not in school, she's in her 40's.

You did not indicate in your question the nationality of the missing person. In other words: Is your father's daughter (your sister?) a European? Is her mother Moroccan? Do you have an address of her mother? if so, and you know that she lives in Marrakesh, then you stand a very good chance of finding her.
You have to travel to Morocco, and head to Marrakesh, contact the Marrakesh police administration there and they will help you locate her. The police keep highly accurate and updated information on the whereabouts of foreigners. Also taking along any pictures of the lost person is of great importance, also have some proof of relationship (documents) at hand. I am sure if she is still in Marrakesh you do stand a very good chance of locating her through the police.
If your father was married to a Moroccan woman and he had a daughter from her (they are both Moroccans and not Europeans) then he again has to go to the Marrakesh police with documents proving they were married, and the full name of his wife. The police will help him locate her, but this will be neither as easy nor as quick as locating a foreigner.

Finding her through the police, but also do you have her approximative address ? what's the age of his daughter ? is she attending some French or Moroccan school ? maybe putting her photo in some Moroccan newspaper www.lopinion.ma or www.lematin.ma might help or some Morocan website or even on the Moroccan TV like 2M www.2M.ma where they have such a program for missing persons called Moukhtafoune. or send me more data since I will be in Marrakech next week.
