Be a secondary character from a book, movie, or play. An ugly step sister, fairy godmother, Nearly headless Nick from the Harry Potter series, the wolf from Little Red Riding Hood, or Hades. Spencer's Gifts has some really neat costumes. I usually use something from there as a base and build upon it. Two years ago I was Living Dead Girl from the Rob Zombie video and got a black witches gown and spider webs as a base. I added white make up and dark circles around my eyes. I topped it off with a long Morticia Adams wig and spider webs. I scared all kinds of little kids. This year I'm going as Medusa. I'm getting the Cleopatra costume and having my hair done in big curls which I'll add rubber snakes to.

Good thing you put your age in there, some people could get too creative for you.
You could go as a scarecrow, or a tinman, a lion... dorothy.... there are so many different things.... you could wear a toga and go as a greek god/goddess..... just look around on the net for costumes, and pull an idea.
A couple years ago I got an old bridesmaid dress at a thrift store and dumped fake blood over my head and I was "carrie"

here's some ideas: bo-peep a fairy a marionette doll (with the red circle cheeks, curled hair, a flouncy dress, vivid eyelashes and strings attached of course) a facebook/myspace page (use cardboard) someone from a certain time period 50s,60s,70s,80s(very fun!) or from medieval/rennaissance commonly known fictional charachter or a fairytale character-Rapunzel, etc. This one is pretty cheesy but one of you could string small ceral boxes on a piece of rope then stick forks thru the boxes and wear it around your neck (hence THE CEREAL Killer)get it?? Yeah that one might be to "gay" for you (since 13yr olds who do matching costumes are) but its just a suggestion.

Be a car. Make the car out of a cardboard box and hang it over your shoulders with strings and drive around. Attatch a steering wheel. You just need to paint the box. Cut out some wheels and be creative.
