I'm not a big fan of the UN as an organization, but I believe in the idea of nations getting together and talking.

Right now they got one right; the UN has condemned North Korea and its member nations are imposing sanctions. So they get a point this week.

The United States rendered the UN useless. There will always be a need for a body like the UN, but in order for it to work, nations must be willing to give up some of their sovereignty. I don't necessarily see that as a good or a bad thing, but it's the only way a worldwide governing body will ever have any teeth.

Disagree. If you call a compilation of some of the worlds most powerful nations useless...The UN exists to stop things like Nazi germany from happening again

Agree. They are so twisted, they even have UN workers who are exchanging sex for food and water to children. I agree with the "idea" of what they are here to accomplish, but I don't agree on how they do it. I am so glad that they are changing leadership. Kofi Annan is a waste of air. I do not like the man. He is as warped and twisted as some of the worst leaders out there.

The UN is corrupt. Useless definitely. It was a good idea but there are too many nut cases involved in it now. The US should leave and take our money with us.

I agree with you fully. Actually it is the Elder Brother (obviously US) who is interrupting and hindering UN's decisions.

Agree. It supposed to do some good, but it's hands are tied by the "super powers." Plus, there are just too many conflicts in the world.
