I understood Saddam's regime. How about Isreal and Palestein? How about Afghanistan? North Korea? Why doesn't the U.S. want North Korea to get nuclear weapons when the U.S. itself has nuclear weapons.

Perhaps if we made it really simple you might grasp the concept that would answer your question?
There is a war in the Middle East so there is not one here. Busy killing at home, or since most of those killing in Iraq are from other places, killing in Iraq, those crazies are not killing in the U.S. The concept is to provide a place [other than the U.S.] for the crazies to kill, since that is what they love to do.
Other than to end WWII, in Japan, how many nations has the U.S. used its nuclear weapons on? Take your time.........
If you are unable to draw a distinction between the U.S. with its arsenal of nuclear weapons, and North Korea having nuclear weapons.... then it probably isn't possible to explain the difference to you. Many have a "blind spot" when it comes to reason when it is easier to repeat the socialist line of hate America first, last, and always.
I would suggest you visit North Korea and spend a little time there. Perhaps this might enlighten you relative to your inability to grasp the answer to your own questions?
