and why don't some consider it music? I am not the biggest rap fan, but SOME (mostly old school rap) gave a voice to the streets.

I think what some people hate about it, is that some of that music has so many lyrics and videos about violence and degrading women. That is not to say of course, that other forms of music do not as well, but I think that is the biggest reason.

I think some people think that all the swearing is stupid, and i think that other people think that music is suppose to have a tune and notes, some rap doesn't really. It is a bunch of gibberish, I also think that people think that you should be able to sing to music, (unless it is classical) and rap is kinda hard to sing to. DOn't get me wrong. I like some rap but there is some that is a tidbit annoying.

I like a lot of rap music because of the beat it has. I dislike the majority of it mainly because so many of the people who listen to it insist that everyone within a 1 mile radius listen with them. There's nothing that makes me more ill than to walk through a store parking lot with my young children and some idiot is riding through the lot or sitting in the lot, windows down, blaring out the songs where every other word is either GD, MF, F, N, S---, and crap like that. I have the impression that a lot of these clowns insist that they are "expressing themselves" through this kind of abrasive music. If that is the case, they don't have much to offer in my humble opinion. I think that is the impression most of those have who hate rap music.

There's no melody to the rap. And the noise is louder then the words so you can't understand the words. So that Is why I think that most people don't like rap music.

I hate it because "music" is about making you feel something and it is to relax you.
Rap is about the same old thing "I grew up in the hood, got shot, my life sucks, i love money, ***** did this ***** did that, bang bang, my life sucks"
Just look at what it has done to the kids of today.... there is your answer.
But if you like it. It is up to you, have fun :D

i guess some think the language and actions are bad they dont consider it music because in there mind music has more singing and instruments in it

Honestly, they hate seeing a black person have any money. not many white people will tell you that. Thats why i blast lil wayne at stop lights and my new jim jones/dr drama gangsta grillz when I driving in a white neighborhood, to wake those folks UP! hear it coming through my 15"'s???????

its kinda confusing, and like, id have to be a genius to remember all the lyrics. its just impossible to memorize more than one rap song

its what the lyrics say, and it just doesnt sound like music. It doesnt seem to take any talent. All you have to be able to do is talk

i hate the degrading lyrics. and sometimes they repeat way too much, like they couldn't write any more lyrics. but if it's original and has a good beat, i'm cool with it.
