This coming weekend my boyfriend and I want to drive from Phoenix up to Grand Canyon - South Rim for two days. Of course all the hotels at Grand Canyon Village are booked. -- Can someone recommend an inexpensive hotel near by?

It depends on how close you want to be to the Grand Canyon.

You can stay in Tusayan right outside the South Entrance of the Grand Canyon. The Best Western Squire Inn is in Tusayan and goes for around $80 per night right now.

Or you could stay in Flagstaff. I recommend the Hampton Inn and Suites in Flagstaff. I beleive they start around $65 per night right now. It is the newest hotel built in Flagstaff and is very nice for the price.

Flagstaff is a great place to stay if you plan on doing other things besides the Grand Canyon like Sedona which was voted the most beautiful place in America.

You can take tours of the Grand Canyon and Sedona from Flagstaff with Arizona Canyon Tours.

Another possibility is the Cameron Trading Post in Cameron AZ.
It's located just north of the Jct of US 89 & SR 64 and about 30 spectacular miles uphill and east of The Desertview entrance station,
The rooms are big , clean and if you're lucky you can get a room overlooking the Little Colorado River gorge. The hotel itself is located on the Navajo nation as such no alcohol is available.
The restaurant is actually pretty good,
Rates are around $50-60 per night

the area code is 928 give them a call

Grand Canyon???? sooner or later whilst staying in Denver???? rotflmfao!!! have you ever appeared at a map? The Grand Canyon is a sturdy ten hourchronic from Denver! And it is WEST, after all, so in case you're staying on the East of Denver (why?) you could desire to function yet another hour or so. you won't be able to get there for a time out!

We just stayed at the Best Western in Williams and it was great. The rates were right around $85 a night and that includes a free continental breakfast that's nicer than most. The rooms were clean and they have a little gift shop plus free high speed internet service. Highly recommended.
