If you get a score lower than your current average, your average will always go down. How much down depends on the weighting of the tests you've already taken, compared to the quiz worth 25 points.

All depends on the total number of points currently in your total grade.
For example, if you had 10 tests (equally weighed at 25 points each) already that your 84% average was based on, the 70% you just got will bump your grade down to a 82.7%.
However, if you only had 1 existing test in class that was only worth 1 point, and that is where your 84% came from, then your 70% on your 25 point test would bump your grade down to a 70.5%.
In otherwords, you have to consider how many existing points you have in your grade tally. I wouldn't lose sleep over one grade though! Work hard, study, and you can overcome it.

This depends on what else you have had as far as evaluations in the class but so far you have:
84x(percent of the class mark this was worth, written as 0.XX)
+
70x0.25
divided by the total percent of the class's evaluation you have completed
For example if all of what you had done before was worth 50% that you so far had an 84, and there was still 25% of the mark to go, you would have:
(84x0.50 + 70x0.25) / (75) = 79.3

Let's see:
84 + 70 = 154.
154 divided by the two exams = 77%
Your grade slightly decreased from 84% to 77%.

IT WILL LOWER 15 POINTS! lol, no for real it depends on the percentage that tests impact your grade. for instance tests and assignments might be 80% of your grade, then however homework maybe 20%. You will be lowered aboutttt 1-2 points. Not to worry =]

How much it goes down depends on how many total points you have in the semester. Since the score is below your total, it will bring your total grade down, however we can't tell you how much it will go down if you don't give us the total points possible in the class as well as how many points you have earned.
