Real mummies? Certainly. Nearly any museum has a few of them lying about. As for the kind that get up and walk around, like in the Hollywood films...well, probably not.

Go to Egypt, and go to the Cairo Museum they are there. What kind of a question is this it's like asking if there's really people. I have seen Ramses, and Septa in the Egyptian Museum, they are nearly 3000 years old. Every history book or program on National Geographic, Discovery, or TLC has shows about mummies...DUH!

Yes. The ancient Egyptians believed that after a person died that the Ba (soul or spirit) returned to the body each night. If the body began to decay, then it wouldn't look the same, so the Ba wouldn't recognize its own body, couldn't return, and would die completely. Check out a book about Ancient Egypt to learn more. There are even some by Mary Pope Osborne that are geared for young children.

Yes, there certainly are. In Egyptian tombs, in museums, there are real mummies. People in ancient times were mummified to keep them preserved, by the wrapping and balms, so it makes sense that there are still some, preserved just like they were supposed to be.

Yes, mummy's are real. People don't keep them anymore due to raising cost of changing bandages...all that walking around really gets them dirty. To keep them in good spirits(no pun intented) ,keep them clean . If we get a new one?...we'll try plastic wrap instead. Water proof mummy......lol
