I used to work in a Chiropractors office, there is something that they sell there called BioFreeze. It's like Icy Hot or Bengay, but it works much better. I use it all the time when I have any type of muscle pain/cramps, or discomfort in a joint. It comes in different forms, they have it in a green gel type stuff, in a roll on tube, and it can also be used in a spray. It smells very strong, but the smell goes away pretty fast, and it works for quite a while. It doesn't stain clothing or anything either. The product is also inexpensive, we sold it for $8 in the office I was working in. Also you may want to consider seeing a chiropractor. They can sometimes adjust knees to alleviate pain, and sometimes if your hips are out it can lead to knee pain.

Joint pain or stiffness of the joint may be caused by overexertion, injuries, arthritis, muscle pain, bursitis and other diseases. Depending on the cause of the joint pain, joints on both sides of the body and small or large joints may be affected. Some types of joint pains can be completely cured but for other types of joint pain (like pain caused by osteoarthritis), treatment will only reduce the pain.
