A TV Host has their own show and can be about anything while an anchor works at a news station.

A TV host normally hosts a television show. Jay Leno would be a good example. An anchor on the other hand, is used to keep a boat in place. There are several types: Danforth, Plow, Navy, etc. Some work well on rocky bottoms, while others hold well in sand and mud.
