I definitely ate deli meats while pregnant (three times), and I've never heard of listeria.

I'm sure it's extremely rare.

I worried that I would have a premature, low-birthweight baby, covered with boils, missing three toes and an arm, and having only half a developed brain. It's normal, I promise.

I ate deli meat all through pregnancy. Make sure it's thoroughly cooked, the instruments and counter spaces are sanitized, the deli employees wear gloves, they protect against cross-contamination (raw meat is not handled and does not come into contact with vegetables, bread, or cheese or anything that would be used on both, such as a knife or countertop) and everything is properly heated/refrigerated, and it should be fine.

You can ask them to make sure (you have that right), but they wouldn't have passed their health department checks if they weren't doing things right.

Try to relax, and you should be able to eat deli with no damage to your child.

I honestly did eat deli meats while pregnant because I craved Ham and Turkey sandwiches. I would try cooking the ham, but sometimes I did just eat it cold, Ham is what they tell you to stay away from, but I couldn't resist. Try eating it moderately, or not at all. I do not know how common listeria is, but my daughter survived.

it's a common bacteria but, it's not to common to get sick from it. As long as you heat your deli meat it kills listeria. I had hot deli meat my whole pregnancy with this baby I've never got sick. My 1st child is 10.5 I NEVER knew it was "bad" to eat cold deli meat i had many sandwiches when pregnant with him never was a issue for me. My mom ate cold cuts with all her kids she never had a miscarriage or a loss never got ill.

I even have heard diverse issues. you will get a micro organism referred to as Listeria from any style of deli meat. in case you thoroughly cook dinner your meat or (in case you bypass to subway or something) have them toast the sandwich and which will kill lots of the micro organism. The micro organism isn't stable for you or the toddler so in simple terms be careful. Ever for the reason that i found out i become pregnant I even have prevented any deli meat except it become heated up in the past I ate it. yet i'm additionally probable being a sprint paranoid! stable luck

I ate uncooked deli meats while i was pregnant before i found out about listeriosis. my nutritionist had a miscarriage because of this bacteria. thankfully i didn't come into contact with it. the only safe way to eat deli meats while you are pregnant is to cook them on the stove. putting them in the microwave won't kill the bacteria. make sure that the meat is steaming on both sides before you eat it.

20% of Listeria infections occur in pregnant women and most occur during the third trimester. I just try to be on the safe side and stick with grilled ham and cheese sandwiches.
