You need not require the age of Leas sister to find out the age of her mother.Let the age of the mother be x years.kkTherefore according to the condition, x/2 -1 =26 => x/2= 26+1= 27 .So,x=54. So age of mother is 54 years

If Lea is 26 then add 1 year (since 26 is one year younger you have to add 1) and multiply by 2 (because the original 26 was cut in half) to get her mother's age which is 54.

Her mother is 54. You do not need the info about the sister; it is there to throw you off.
54 divided by 2 is 27
27 minus 1 is 26
