can they still be considered the number one team in the NFL regardless of their terrible game played monday night? or should the colts be named number one again?

they are not the best, for the first half of the game, they were completely manhandled by one of the worst franchises in NFL history, they made a surge at the end, but had to rely on the others teams kicker to miss a feild goal in order to win what should have been a blowout

The Bears have that game and the Colts have the Titans game. The Bears will have other games where they aren't playing their best... so will the Colts and the entire rest of the NFL. That happens, that's why they play the games. The Cardinals came out with a great game plan and Leinart is showing that he'll probably be one of those rare rookie QBs that don't need time to develop into a starter. Those kinds of QBs come around once every 10 years, if that.

Why all the Bears questions/answers? Bunch of haters.
The Bears are 6-0. They have the best record and that is all that needs to be said. Horrible play or not it is winning that counts.
Why Colts? By the same logic they shouldn't be number one either. They pulled a victory out of their **** against the Titans but no one remembers that for some reason.
If any team it would be the Chargers.

bears r the best even though they won by 1. its still a win. best defense and offense makes the ebars the best in the world. plus on the front of 1 of SI covers, it said " BEWARE OF THE BEARS"

They have the best record and best defense. They had one bad game but the defense showed it's strength and won it in the end. Grossman is gonna rebound after that horrible showing. They'll be #1 until they lose in my opinion.
