I have had terrible news many times in my life. I thought the world was going to end or that my life was going to fall apart. But when I looked at it realistically, I saw that the negative was often a negative for a reason. Perhaps someone was trying to tell me something and I wasn't listening (when a boyfriend I loved broke up with me. I missed the clues.)

If it was never meant to be, then you are being done a favor. It may be hard at first, but eventually you are able to see and turn the bad news into something meaningful and positive.

It happens in small doses all the time. The one thing that changed my attitude towards fellow beings was a small, insignificant episode .

When I finushed my studies and attended a job interview ina top company , I was very eager to get the job. There was a Group Discussion and about 14 job seekers were also there competing.

The Group discusion , the question /answer session, .... everything I was trying to butt in , leaving no chance to the others. ( I didnot realise this then). After the Discussion was over , a tall guy came told me? Mister, I donot know who you are. You are not going to get this job for sure. But, you could have given opportunity for a few others to participate . Yiou never allowed anybody , a chance. What kind of a person are you/"

To this day , I remember this and it changed my attitude for ever. For getting something for yourself you cannot walk over everybody elase.

I was told that I had an ectopic pregnancy. That the baby was caught in my fallopian tube and I would have to have surgery to remove the tube, my ovary, the pregnancy and I may not be able to have children.

I asked for a second opinion, waited 12 hours and prayed. The doctor who came on the next shift told me it was a mistake and now my daughter is 9, just went to bed and makes me happier than anything in the world.

Any stupidity of mine, when pointed out by others , looks like a terrible news, and I take redoubled efforts to avoid it... especially awareness related ones.. and it did bring a positive change every time.
