Well being a huge v.c.andrew fan i was excited to see the movie Flowers in the Attic. Though I was a little disappointed, I liked the book much better. That storyline really brings up mixed emotions for the characters, like I felt sorry for the mom but at the same time hated her for being so selfish. And you couldn't help but want the brother and sister to be together but it was so obviously wrong....All I can say is that I stared reading V.C Andrews books when I was in 7th grade and I still am reading them to this day, and I'm 20!

FLOWERS IN THE ATTIC YES I was just finishing my PhD - must be late 1970's ... After a tragic accident leaves them fatherless four children return to their mother's mysterious family mansion hoping for an inheritance. But when they are imprisoned and abandoned by their evil grandmother the children must... The book is good - if you have seen the film, don't buy the book as you'll relaise you wasted a film ticket...

I never read the book , so the first time I saw this movie I thought
it was quite strange. I did not like the movie that much, for a
mother to help starve her children in a attic, that storyline was very
horrific. I wanted those children to escape alot sooner so that
they would have survived and then I wanted to see their rotten
mother destroyed. Not my kind of movie. I would rather see the
Godfather for the 100th time or Goodfellas or something else.

I remember that movie. The best is very good, better than the movie. Kind of crazy though. I also love Dean Koontz books, they have very different plots, stuff I could have never imagined would come from a book.

The movie was not as incestuous as the book. Also, Kristy Swanson (aka Buffy the Vampire Slayer from the movie) was the main character.
I think the movie was kind of lacking but then again most movies from books are. IMO!

I think I've only seen the movie twice. I enjoyed the end when the "game" was up. The book is much better.

My brother and I watched it in the late 80's on HBO and we both thought it was bad. I remember him saying midway through "Now I know why I didn't read the book".

Ohhhh very chilling. The grandmother was so purely evil. And the mother was so taken in and corrupted against her own children. I was a child when I saw it and it still gives me the chills. I kept saying tot he tv "Get out of the house, get out!!"
