Figure out all the combinations (there should be 36 combinations) and highlight the ones that sum to 7:

there are total 36 conceivable effects at the same time as 2 dice are rolled. journey A: effects with the sum being odd (3, 5,7,9,11) are 2+4+6+4+2 = 18 journey B: effects with the sum being below 6 (2,3,4,5) are: a million+2+3+4 = 10 Even A intersection B: effects with sum being odd and below 6 (3,5): 2+4 = 6 P(AUB) = P(A) + P(B) - P (A intersection B) P(AUB) = 18/36+ 10/36 - 6/36 P(AUB) = 11/18
