the flower bed is 31' long and 11' feet wide in one section and 6' wide in another and 3.5' in the last section. the flower bed starts out at 3.5' up by the steps for about 10' then extends to 6' wide for another 10' then extends to 11' for the last 11'

missing how deep you want that to be...assuming 3" deep, you would need 1.98 cubic yards.

A rough estimate is one cubic yard 3. inches deep will cover a10 by 10 area

If you are getting it in a bag from HD or L's, then read the back of the bag. It says how much it will cover for how deep an area. Do the math.
