spray the area with W40, leave for few minutes (or hours) and let it soak then scrape it with a 1" paint scraper. rubbing alcohol won't work.

Rubbing alcohol is not going to work. Goo gone is good for the residue left behind on your board but if the sticker is plastic it won't penetrate into the glue. The simplest way is to run a hair dryer over the sticker until the surface of the sticker is fairly hot to the touch. Then lift a corner of the sticker with your fingernail or a small screwdriver and slowly peel the sticker off.

Whatever you do, Do NOT use a razorblade.

I wouldn't use any chemicals whatsoever. Top skin is pretty thin already, and it gets scratched up already, so any chemical on the surface could easily find its way into the core, which could potentially cause serious problems down the road. Stick with a scrubby and hot water. Also, a razor blade if used very carefully.

Use an oil based furniture cleaner, like orange clean. Let it sit for a few minutes, and the sticker should peel off neatly with a putty knife.

loosen it up with some warm water-dry the excess water, then apply baby oil. Let the oil soak into the glue backing. A little bit of arm power and you should be set.

take a damp cloth and put it over the sticker. after awhile the sticker would get wet and it would be easier to pull off.
