If you love, truly love, but can't be with a person for various reasons, then why should or would one love them? To love completely without being able to fulfill the love seems futile? No?
How does one change this to give comfort to ones inner being?

Why would you love them?
My answer: Because you just do.....it's in your heart.
My tone of voice isn't that of sarcasm. Completely the opposite.
I'm going through the same thing, and I've thought it over many times.
How do you fulfill a love that seems unreachable?
You fulfill a love that seems unreachable by loving anyways.
The meaning to love is........to love.....that's it. :-)
Don't think of the bad, but of the good.

If you truly LOVE this person, you will find a way to be with them. Have you informed this person of your feelings? If not, why? Isn't that just as futile as not fulfilling the love?

Be happy that you have felt a love such as this, even if it is bitter-sweet.some people have never felt true love and are always looking for it. Take that love and share it with a special child or an elderly person. Love can bring you peace even if you can not be with the person it is directed at. The more you give it away , the more you will receive.

Get serious. Find someone to love that you can be with. There are millions of lonely people in this world so find someone you can love and be with. Not fulfilling love is tragic especially if you are a loving person. Comfort your innner feelings by loving someone who is accessible.

I love my Teddy Wilfred because he has been with me for many years, I know him and he knows me, over the years we have learnt to totally trust each other, we never think poorly of each other. The knowledge that we would never mess up on each other plus the respect we have for each other has built up a sound healthy love that warms us on the coldest of nights and winters.
