A line of greeting cards features messages taht say happy birthday, congrats, and feel better soon. The cards come with pictures of dogs, cats, birds, horses, or rabbits, and either have white, pink, blue or green envelopes. If a salesperson takes a card and envelope at random from a sample case containing one of each type, what is the probability it is a happy birthday card with a picture of a dog?

There are 3 choices for the saying and 5 choices for the animal.

Chance of happy birthday (1/3)
Chance of a dog (1/5)

Chance of both (1/3 x 1/5) = 1/15

The color of the envelope doesn't matter, so that isn't factored in.

Chance that the chosen card is a happy birthday card with a picture of a dog is 1/15 or 6.667%
