Do you think that A-Rod will be traded to the Cubs?
There are rumors that he wants to go to the Cubs now that Lou Pinella is their manager. If they do trade him it will likely be for Aramis Ramirez and a couple of pitchers.

It's not likely that this trade is going to happen. Why pay the rest of A-Rod $95 million remaining on his contract (Texas is still paying $28 million of that contract when they traded him away for Soriano) when they can keep Ramirez for $10 million and produce similar numbers that A-Rod produce in NY? The Yankees are in desperate need for prospects (Steinbrenner is consider selling his Triple A affiliate) and the Cubs can do that while taking A-Rod contract, but A-Rod has a no-trade clause. However, despite Pinella relationship with A-Rod and his "brotherly" love in NY, A-Rod wants to stay and it's unlikely that he waive his no-trade clause for any team, even if Pinella is in Chi-town. Besides, the Cubs are saving money for someone else, like Soriano or Carlos Lee, and it's about to to get Wood $12 million off the book (They got rid of Maddux and $9 million off the book during the midseason trade). But retaining Pierre is their main focus this offseason for the Cubs and his asking price might be high, considering how his season went, and rebuilding with a young nucleus is their main point for 2007.

i think that A-rod will not be traded to the cubs because he is too valuable of a player to trade away even though he's been in a slump lately. also he's not worth Aramis ramirez and a couple of pitchers

The Yankees won't commerce him. If he opts out of his contract he could finally end up with the Cubs, yet on condition that Mark Cuban is authorized to purchase them. that's a exceptional form of ifs. in accordance with the previous answer with regard to the Cubs being set on the infield: you will not supply up Theriot, Fontenot, or DeRosa for that count, for A-Rod. to not point out - Theriot and DeRosa ought to and characteristic the two performed top field. the different performs 2d, Fontenot rides the pine and A-Rod performs short. not not common to make room for somebody with a professional probability to be the appropriate ever.

Hmmm! Now that Piniella is manager, maybe so. He did have
him in Seattle, didnt he. If he goes to Cubs he will propably go
back to Shortstop. Your trade for Ramirez but who are the two
pitchers....Not Wood & Prior, I would hope.

only if he wants to be part of his contract with the Yankees states that he can not be traded unless he wants to be. and the team he would go to would have to pay a lot of money or give up some good players inorder to get him and i dont think the Cubs have either of those (the money or the players)

I see A-Rod going to the White Sox before the Cubs. I've heard more rumors about him going to the White Sox more than I have heard anything about him going to the Cubs.

How many people called you stupid? I think that A-Rod would love to go to Chicago. And I believe that the Yankees would love to send him. Can a trade be made? We'll see!
