Hey, a girl asked me to go to homecoming with her this Saturday. I've been homeschooled all my life and I've never been to a homecoming dance so does any one have any tips or required things I should know?

Be sure to wear a nice suit, buy her a corsage (thats an arrangement of flowers that she wears on her wrist, in case u didn't know). You will probably be taking her out to dinner, and possibly a date before the dance (at least thats how it worked at my old high school), pay for all of these things, and also for the dance tickets and possibly pictures at the dance.

Dont forget to tell her how beautiful she looks! And most importantly, be a gentlemen and open the car door for her etc. And pose pretty for all the pictures (her parents may be taking pictures of you two when you pick her up to go to the dance).

so...when you pick her up at her house, pose for the pictures, give her her corsage and open the car door for her when youre leaving.

At the dance, dont be afriad to let loose and actually dance, keep in mind that it doesn't matter what other people think, so long as you are having fun! and she will have more fun if you are actually dancing too, and hold her close during the slow dance songs. Stay in contact with her throughout the dance, and be considerate that shell be walking in heels hehe, they suck!

other than that, everything should run smoothly and youll have a blast! enjoy!

Bad idea about not telling the brother. He'll get over it either way, but quicker if you tell him beforehand. If you don't like dancing to fast songs, you're pretty much out of luck. From my experince, that's pretty much all they play. I never really talked much while dancing (and I mean actually dancing, not that grinding crap). Te most I eve said were some random comments about the music or other people. And laughing of course. Looking your best, don't go overboard with makeup and be sure to ask your mom/older sister for help while getting ready. I wore this really pink lipstick my sophmore year, and I still shudder at the pictures. go for a look that is just a step above what you do everyday. Make sure your hair is very secure, you can never have too many bobby pins! Above all, be confident and stand tall and straight. Never ever slouch when in formal wear.

well all you need to do is socialize & dance.

by dance, i mean like dance to mainstream hip-hop/rap songs... and also slow-dance during the more romantic songs. the dancing really isn't that hard if you get your courage up and not care about what other people think. all you need to do is imitate how the people around you are dancing.

other than that... it's just like a regular party with a lot of people.

have fun.

First things first, gotta get a swagger, don't want to look like a robot out on the dancefloor, now let me hit you with the secret wepon, put a little of your cologne on the corsage, get inside her head, then all you've got to do is give her the eyes.

I agree with red_tina....dances smell enough with people who have never seen deodorant....and to be slow dancing with a girl and smell....you get my drift. Wear deodorant and possibly cologne. Be youself, have fun, don't be worried. It's not hard.

I asked my 17 year old daughter - her tips " above ALL else - don't stink - since you are a boy, you have no idea how terrible it is to be on the receiving end of 'boy stink'.

Good luck!
