Herodotus is given credit for being the father of history with his aptly titled work "The Histories". But for history like we know it today(based on primary resources including actual interviews) we owe real history to Thucydides, a late contemporary of Herodotus, and his "History of the Peloponnesian War".

Many mistakenly believe that the "Father of History" was Herodotus.

This theory was scientifically disproven on the Jerry Springer Show when Herodotus tested NEGATIVE on his paternity test.

5 Greeks and 5 paternity tests later and we STILL don't know who history's father really is.... and perhaps we never will.

Hope this helped.
