there is no other way except formatting your hard drive. use the bootable 2000 cd to format and install a fresh copy.

upgrade your computer! after XP you should never go back! Upgrade what you need to to make it work, more memory bigger hard drive more RAM what ever it takes. If you are running a Pentium 2 or (yikes!) a 486 , get another one! if your running a Pentium 3 or better, you have hope!Yes, you can roll back to 2000 by reformatting your hard drive. But do you really want to? support for 2000 is going to end soon and most newer things will even overwhelm that!(please do the humane thing and euthanize your old one and look for a new puppy!

First back up all of your stuff onto a flashdrive or burn it to a CD. Then reformat your hard drive and install Windows 2000.

back up anything you need and do a clean install (erases the hard drive). dont think it will help much since xp is actually less demanding. if your just not used to the design right click on start and change the properties to classic start menu good luck

Try going into display and setting the theme to classic. The Windows XP theme eats a lot of memory. Switching it back to classic will save you a lot of memory.

Pc's are dirt cheap, you can pick up a new one for like $200. Sounds like you're in need for a new pc anyway.
