I am still young, however as a teacher I have noticed that children have been getting lazier. With the increase in technology and two income households, it seems as if children are losing their parental guidance and lack of direction.

I consider myself young and not lazy, but that is because my parents never let my sisters and I have a lot of technology. We were never given technology toys, gaming systems, and we were forced to walk to school instead of take the bus. I blame parents on spoiling their kids.

It does seem to be that way. I raised this question when I noticed a lot of kids trying to get answers to their homework questions here instead of doing their own research. I have a teaching degree also, but never taught school. I remember long nights in the library or going through encylopedias at home & these kids just want answers. If they're looking for a source, I answer.

I disagree. They are not getting lazier, but what is happening is times are changing. So what if they spend mindless hours on myspace, at least then they've got computer smarts that will help them later. They may seem "lazy" by adult definition, but mabey your definition will mean nothing in 10 - 20 years, when those kids are in charge of running the world. We didn't show much promise when we were teens, but look at us now.
