I recently had an abortion on August 30th 2006.(An abortion I had to have due to a medication that presented a significant risk to my little one).Well since then I have had unprotected sex.I usually ovulate around the 14th or so and my period comes around the 28th and last 6 days.Well now I am clueless as to when I ovulate. I took a pregnancy test and it came back very very very faint positive.I feel i tested early but is it possible to have positive results so early----I have had some bleeding earlier in the month. But nothing yet! Please what are your honest thoughts.I would love to have this baby, but dont want to get super excited to have a false positive!

I test positive very early too. And as a woman you just know? Especially if you want the baby. Mine was unplanned but I just knew. So Get to a doctor woman and get those prenatal Vitamins. A blood test will be able to detect forsure if you're pregnant or not at this stage!! They say ANY positive line is a positive test no matter how faint. I took a test (first response) 5 days before my period was die and I had a faint line. I've also been told my HCG is low, everything is healthy, it's just low, and it stil showed up positive!
Good Luck and Congrats if you are!

The hormones that pregnancy tests react to could still be faintly present in your system resulting in a false positive. That is the most likely scenario considering on average it takes anywhere from 6 months up to a year to become pregnant again after a miscarriage.. yes, you had an abortion but, in either case, your body will react the same way.

I hope that helps. Best of luck!

It is very rare that a pregnancy test will appear positive, even if it is very faint. Sometimes they appear to be negative but the woman is indeed pregnant, but I think you may be with child! Honestly, I really think you are pregnant, but you should schedule an appointment to be sure and get a blood test. Good luck, and I'll say a prayer!

My wife had a faint positive with our second child. She tested earlier than you were supposed to (don't remember how early it was).

She called the manufacturer of the test and they said that any positive is a positive, even a faint one.

That, of course, is allowing for the 99.44% accuracy. I also think they may register positive for a while after a miscarriage, but cannot say for sure.

Good luck.

I think that you should probably assume that it is a false positive and make an appointment with an OB-Gyn to have a test and an exam to make sure that if you are pregnant, or even if you want to get pregnant, there is no lasting damage from the abortion and that your uterus is eady and able. I understand your hope, assume the worst and plan for the best. I truly honestly hope that you are pregnant with the healthy and wonderful baby that you deserve.

i'll give you my honest opinion, you should WAIT for you body to cope with what happen dont rush you body let it "rest". then when everything is back to normal try it again, be patient. for your baby...wait about another week and test again...se what happens. hope you get what you want....just be careful with yourself, take care!
