Not to take anything away from the teams that they have played so far but the last time I checked, there was a PROFESSIONAL ice hockey team that goes by the name of Flyers here in Philly. I'll bet the Phantoms could beat these goons. They are playing just awful. My guess is that the SniderClarke monster has given coach Hitchcock all the wrong kind of defensemen for today's NHL. (Sell the team Ed and let Clarkie retire. Get rid of the Sixers too.)

I'd like to know your thoughts and analysis, hockey fans.

As long as Clarke is GM the Flyers will never be good. He still lives in the Broad Street Bullies era. Those days are over. Darien Hatcher--give me a break. He's a dinosaur. He is so slow, he's a joke.

It's hard to give anyone credit at the present time but, they might of had a bit more unity if they would have pulled Esche instead of hanging him out like that. After goal # 8 Hitchcock had a smile on his face. Let him get beat then laugh at him, his players won't respect him as a coach if he keeps that up. Could be a long season in Philly.

You are dead on about the wrong type of defenseman for today's NHL. Detroit let Hatcher go because he can't skate and he spends to much time in the box. Peter Forsberg is not the Peter Forsberg from the days when the Avalanche were winning Cups, and quite frankly they are just to d*** slow. The new NHL is about speed and skill and they just don't have enough of either and that is Bobby Clarke's fault.

Well, at least the Flyers can take solace in the fact that they will never supplant the Phillies as the losingest professional sports franchise ever (9956 regular season losses since 1883).

Philadelphia has definitely had its fair share of sports misery. And then some.

JD<----Huge Flyer's Fan...
Everyone that I've spoken-to (who actually seems to know what they're talking about) points the finger at Bobby Clarke (GM) but.... I don't know... their offense can't produce on the PP / Their defence is obsurdly slow / their goal-tending sucks....... BECAUSE?... They spent all their $ on Gagne.....
The question is..... (WHO'se Decision was this?) Or maybe...... no-one respects Peter F? But why?
I know they are capable of playing 1000% better than they showed tonight. I KNOW IT!!!
Lastly - if it's Clarke's ******* fault why don't they get rid of Clarke????
Damn!!!???

Personally I think that your wrong. I think that Peter Forsberg would skate circles around the Phantoms and also Derian Hatcher would mess those guys up. Peter Forsberg and Hatcher could beat the Phantoms by themselves.

as a flyers fan myself, I can't explain, the talent is there, so i guess the bext step is the coach. if the players don't produce and are capable the coach is the prblem, they need to get rid of hitch

Enough bad things can't happen to the Flyers as far as I am concerned.

One thing is certain the stars will smoke their rears, and the Eagles they will go down once again
