I have a platter from 1885 England & a set of Aberdeen china I would like to find info on & value.

Sounds like it is very valuable.

You may have seen Auction on TV, especially PBS. There are some very good pieces and they appraise them for free. But you have to stand in line. You may be surprised how valuable yours is.

Otherwise, find auctioneers (in yellow pages) and they can either appraise it or they will tell you who will for a fee. That should be your first stop.

A reputable jeweler could direct you to the best appraiser in your area. You could also try and auction house, if you have one close by.

try watching antique road show on tv and tape some of the episodes and look for other people on the show who brings their china. they always show the persons name and what company they are from.
