Ok my period is 4 days late and I had unprotected sex a couple of days before I ovulated.I took a pregnancy test when it was 1 day after my missed period and it showed up negative but everyone around me asking me if I'm pregnant because of the symptoms I'm having and my breast are sore and swollen they are also getting a bit darker and you can see more veins in them.My question is even though the pregnancy test was negative can I still be pregnant? someone told me I can't be because right after my missed period it should be positive if I was.Is this true?

it could be late just due to stress, this happens alot to me. wait a couple of days before taking the test again, you could have had a false-positive

Thats not really true. It can take a while for different peoples preg. hormone to kick in, which is what the preg. test looks 4. Theres a great chance that a neg test is wrong, wheras a pos test is nearly always right. Thats a real fact, lol. Also, if you drink plenty of water, that can dialute your urine and make your test appear negative when it could actually be positive. My best advice is wait a week, and take the test again, using your morning sample coz thats alot stronger than any other you'd produce throughout the day. Sometimes home tests can take a while to show up. It depends on how much hCG is in your urine right now. I would wait a couple more days and then try another test.. maybe a different brand. If it still comes back negative, go to the doctor and get a blood test.. they are more accurate anyways.
It sounds to me like you are pregnant though..

You can still be pregnant no matter what that test showed. Wait 7 days after you took the first and take another dont go to the doller store go to walmart or your local health department (which is free) to get a new test done. Good luck

Why dont you just take another pregnancy test, then if that still shows up negative go to a free clinic and get tested.

pregnancy test will not have an accurate reading for 2 weeks after your missed period. in 5 days go and buy a new test and it should give you an acurate reading

those tests miss it some times. I say go to the doctor and let them do a blood test. the pea tests miss alot of stuff. you could be, and then again you could be stressed for thinking you are. either way, you wanna be sure, make an appointment.

If it was a home pregnancy test, you should try taking it again or check with your doctor. My experience along with what my ob gyn told me is that they have a high incidence of false negative results.

yes you can be i took 3 home pregnancy test adn it all came back negative until i took a blood test and it came back positive so you should take a blood test

you definately could be pregnant. it is possible to be pregnant even if your test comes up negative. it still may be too early. keep trying sweetie, and hope everything turns out great for you!!
