I have had the same problem, so I know how you feel. Go to Walgreens and get Uristat and Cystex. Uristat is a pain reliever designed specifically for UTIs. It takes about 2 hours to work. Cystex also helps with the pain and "gotta go" sensation, but also contains an antibacterial agent, which helps. These won't cure your UTI, but after a couple of hours, you should forget all about it. Oh, except that they make you pee dark orange, so don't panic! Make sure to keep taking a dose of each every 4-5 hours, so you don't have to wait another 2 hours for them to kick in.

I wouldn't take Azo or Uristat (Though they do work) until you have talked to your doctor. Tylenol may take the edge off. Drink alot of water and cranberry juice (It will help flush out the bacteria) laying in the fetal position (if you can) may also help. Just get to the doctor ASAP the sooner you are on antibiotics the sooner the symptoms will go away (usually 24 to 48 hours after the first dose) Good luck and congrats on you little one

You can drink alot of water and cranberry juice. If you want something for the pain you can take Tylenol but regular not extra strengh or anything like that. If you can call the doctor tell them how bad it is and they might just put the meds in for you. good luck hand in their alot of women get UTI's when they get pregnant

tylenol is the only thing that is really safe.
they make uristat, but I dont know if you can use it while pregnant.
I had a horrible UIT with my first child as well. I didnt know that was what it was at first, I thought it was part of being pregnant.
It got so bad I ached from my hips all the way up under my collar bones. I ended up going in to the ER, and they did all sorts of test...it was expensive and a waste - I should have just gone to the doctor a LOT sooner.
See your doctor ASAP, and in the meantime, good luck. Its no fun...

If the UTI is really bad, go to the ER. They will prescribe you antibotics that are safe to take during your pregnancy. Don't wait too long to get into see your doctor because UTIs can turn into bladder infections quickly. If you start peeing blood just go to the ER.

Lots and Lots of cranberry juice!!! I know Tylenol is safe, but I don't know what else is while you are pregnant, call the doctor and see what they can give you or what you can take in the meantime. I wouldn't trust anyone's advice on the internet, just call the doctor. Better safe then sorry!!

I take azo and drink tons of water for mine. I have kidney problems which cause frequent UTIs. My doctor didn't tell me not to take the azo he just made sure I knew that it only helps the symptoms, not the UTI.

get the cranberry juice. and get to the emergency room. UTI's are nothing to mess with.. there is no home remedies. cranberry juice will help flush the symptoms (burning)..but you need to be seen. Penicillin's and amoxicillin are safe to take during pregnancy (for antibiotic's)
