yes, u can... in one condition, the workstations or server which u exchange the processor with ur PC, have the same socket for placing the processor.. example, the server is using an Intel Pentium IV processor, and your PC also require the same type of processor, then u can use the processor in ur PC...but the other thing wont be as easy as that, if the computers u exchange, have different requirements... example, the server using a Pentium Xeon generation processor, but the PC require a pentium IV processor, u cant exchange the processor, as it have different sockets requirements (please note that Pentium Xeon is a processor made specially for servers)... same thing if u exchange from AMD's to Intel's...

o,yeah, one more thing.... exchanging processors is not my advise... because when a PC or server computer is asembled, they use special paste (glue) to stick the processor to the heatsink, not as easy as turning ur hand upside down to release the heatsink...

Yes, we most often can, as wast majority of what we call workstations and servers use same processors as our PCs.
If you have a specific processor in mind and wonder about compatibility please add more details.
