Dealership horrors? Massive repairs 20km past warranty they wont cover? Crap outs that cost thousands?

I recently swore off them for good, and I many know others have.. Tell me why you've dumped your Chev, packed in your Pontiac, and gave up your GMC..

I'd love to hear your woes!
Thanks!

*ahem* notaclue, RELAX man!
i am referring to a car that was in the dealer 22 times before 60000km for anything and everything (9 sealed sensors? a windshield that FELL OUT as it left the dealer when it was 2 min old? a valve that blew in a 'pristine' engine). I loved them for many years.. and as my question asked, IF YOU GAVE IT UP, why?

I would not buy a gm vehicle again due to the problems i have had with thier vehicles in the past and the problems i see on them now working for a municipal fleet as a mechanic it seems there are always job security chevys or gms in the shop. I also would not buy a gm vehicle due to the problems i had with my 1995 chevy s10 pickup which after hqaving it only three months and not putting ten thousand miles on had a blown head gasket but the coolant resevoir and radiator were full and i did my preventive maintance before schedule like i have with all my vehicles. also i will not buy a wimpy pickup like the s10 i once had since it couldnt tow and couldnt carry half of what i had in a ford ranger without damaging the suspension, and finally i wouldnt buy a car from gm since they only make corvettes in rear wheel drive and i refuse to drive a car that is front wheel drive so i will stick with my ranger crown victoria and f250 and my girls mustang

What's the problem? The warranty is the warranty! I'd rather have a GM any day over Ford or Chrysler! You think you've got problems now wait until you own one of those!
What is a "massive" repair? Are you saying you have 260,000 miles on the thing, changed the oil twice, and now you have to rebuild the engine or tranny? How long did you expect it to last? I'm willing to bet from my experience if that's not the case then you are one of those people that spends more than you make and can't afford preventative maintainence and therefore feeling the woes of your poor financial decisions. I have and will continue to own GM to which I buy within my means and not to impress the Jones, then I continue with an excellent preventative maintainence program and have easily attained 200-250,000 miles without any major repair. Chevy does build a 700R4 transmission which is junk but a little know how and that can be over come with ease! Been fixing GM's for over 35 years!
Nothing personal but I can't stand a whinny ***!!!!

I never owned a GM because I like Honda and Toyota.

And Shemeka, your answer makes no sense.

i does no longer purchase it, it is low fee for a reason. that automobile in all probability fee $40-50,0000 some years in the past. Cadillacs depreciate in fee very, very right now, and there's a sturdy clarification for which: they are rubbish. shop your self the grief and maintenance, purchase something common.

first of i agree with notaclue, except the 700r4. as long as you take care of it, oil, tune ups, the normal stuff and not beat the crap out of it, it will last. mine has 200,000 miles and still run`s prefcet!
