It depends on what state you live in

If you are from NY STATE then yes it is 17 for a girl that is the way the state says , I went through this thing with my children , and the law states a girl is her own when she is 17 , and a boy is 18 ..
The law states that when your children are 16-17 , a parent can't make their kids come home at curfew time , because they just wont go and get them and bring them home BUT they have to be off the streets at 2:00am , But also if they get into trouble when they are out there , (even though we cant make them come back home ) , the parents are still responsible). I know that makes no sense ,but as the law says a girl can leave when she is 17 because a girl is more mature then boys so it is 18 for boys

first of all they should be responsible and you should trust them where they go,if they do something wrong or they lie to you of where they are going then let them wait a few months or until they are a little more older to let them go.
