Starchild is clearly not qualified to be answering graphics card questions. The 7800GS as the previous answerer said is the best available, although I wouldn't quite call a $280 card a value card, but you said under $300 so I guess it is alright. If you are looking for a good card that won't break the bank, try this one:http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.asp?Item=N82E16814102057

9800gt is the perfect bang for the dollar at this cutting-edge time. ATI isn't until eventually you flow as a lot because the 4850 4870 decision. yet then Nvidia remains close, pretty with the hot 295. ATI hasnt been in "the lead" for every time those days. This different answer is a comic book tale. ATI couldnt contact the Nvidia 8 sequence for overall performance to well worth ratio. The 8800GT replaced right into lots and a effective card. The 9800 replaced it.. research expenditures to overall performance.

an ati 9800 will play those games fine for under 100$ ... or you could spring for somthing that can handle alot later games at higher settings like an nvidia 7800 agp.
