The first alternative of course. A good friend would help me improve my life and have my interests at heart.
A fake one would only have his/her own agenda.

honest people are the only people in my books. i have had both kinds of friends and the only one that i stick with now is the onw who has told me everything about everything. including personal things that you would usually lie to a friend about (mainly dealing with sexuality). believe me when i say this, if a person i sfake enough to lie to your face, then are they lieing about your friendship as well. think about it long and hard. if they tell one lie, who knows, is their whole life a lie? honesty is the way to go. They may tell you things that you do not want to hear, but you will get over it all and your friendship will end up being better.

The best answer is being truthful. One lie leads to another lie, then you forget what lie you started out with, and it then catches up with you.
Be up front with me, because if you want a honest answer from me that is what you will get. You may not like it, but I try to give a person a honest answer without hurting their feelings.
You like me the way I am or forget it.

I would rather have a friend who is up front with me about everything and tells me the TRUTH about everything he/she thinks about me or anything. I don't like to be lied to. It isn't right and it shouldn't be done because you are saying things that you really don't mean and that you know isn't true.
