The best place to buy books cheap is www.half.com (it is a branch off of ebay). This site is great for buying and selling the books after you have used them. It has been a life saver for me, sometimes you can find a book for even 90 dollars less than what the bookstores are selling it for!!! Ebay itself is not too good because you dont have time to bid on things and wait. With half.com, you just pick one and buy it. They even have selections such as brand new, slightly used, etc... so you can pick the quality of book you want. Good Luck!!

Usually it depends on your professor if they want new books or use old books. New books as in new editions or old editions are ok with them. This was my first semester at college and most of my professors demanded the new editions so there wasnt much choice of used books for me. I ended up buyin mines at the school bookstore which hurts quite a bit the first time you find yourself spending so much on just textbooks. But you can also check online stores such as amazon.com or barnesandnobles.com which carries textbooks also. Im sure there are other websites out there, you might want to ask aroud your school. In my school there were postings on the walls that advertises websites that sells used cheap books but wasnt much difference to the price i paid at the bookstore. Well, hope i helped, happy hunting.
