I liked "Superman Returns" more then "Batman Begins" because it had more feeling to it. Besides the superhero action (Superman's first rescue upon his return makes ALL of the action in "Batman Begins" seem dull) there are human characters in it and human elements in it (not just people in the background gawking or screaming as in the silly superhero super-action movies). The Spiderman films are also more human.
I didn't give a rat's a_s about what might happen to any character in "Batman Begins", although it had good action and the whole ninja-ish thing for the folks who eat up that kinda stuff. Batman and Bruce Wayne are simply bores. One-dimensional characters (the millionaire and the guy in the rubber fake-muscle suit). The Batman movies are only as interesting as their villains! As for realism? We're talking superhero movies here.. the wrong place and the wrong movie for realism.

I think any movie that is plotless or betrays the plot or is an obvious offront to the basis of it. I hate it when in the middle of the movie they suddenly are cussing or strippin and it is put in just to get attention. Catwoman was atrocous, I did not even try to watch it. I HATED the Hulk. Loved Greatest American Hero. Sure it was campy, but that was the point, kinda like the Tick. The first 2 hulk movies were pretty good, they followed the format of the series. X3 while OK as a general movie Sucked as an X-Men flick, so did Superman Returns. Supergirl had some nice effects but no story. I think the worst one was CATWOMAN.

Superman Returns was horrible in the script, acting, and physics department. The silliness started with Lois being flung around like a rag doll during the airplane's descent, and her coming out of it w/o a scratch. Baby Superman was the climax to the movie's downfall.
I liked Batman begins because of the ninja origin story, which is a great explanation for his adept fighting and stealth abilities.

Superman movies are generaly not great superhero movies to begin with. If you were thinking the new one was going to be awesome, then you set yourself up for disappointment. Batman Begins was a good superhero movie, but not the best.

Best (in order):
Superman: The Movie
Batman Begins
Spider-Man 1 & 2
X-Men 1 & 2 (not 3)
Worst:

Daredevil
Batman & Robin
Batman Forever
The Hulk

"Superman Returns" was a bit disappointing but moderately OK. However "Batman Begins" was not only Enjoyable it was THEE most important installment in the series. The film explored Batman/Bruce Wayne's roots and in the process finally explained the reason for his dark, brooding personality which has always been a mystery to the audience until now. A tremendous achievement in storytelling. Great film.

I didn't see Superman Returns, but Batman Begins was great. But I'll take Spiderman 2 over both of them.
