Depends on the price really. Superbly reliable engine if it gets regular oil changes.....not 12000 miles, but 3000 miles for long life. I've known a lot of these engines last 500k if looked after. Build quality on Rovers is very good. Parts not a problem either.

the biggest disaster austin ever made was the montego, the 2l engine is same as rover 2l, heaps of a word not pemmitted here

only buy this car if you have more money than sense!!! i used to sell these and they are nothing but trouble!!!! no wonder rover went broke!!!
