4 years ago we moved out of this house. After that we sold it back to these people and last month they had to give the house back to the bank due to the fact they couldn't keep living there because it was too much money for them to pay. There was to be a auction for this house while I was on vacation. After i got back from vacatioln a good friend of mine said there was tons of mold in the house. They wern't able to sell the house and was ordered to move out right away. I went up to the windows to read all the Warning signs about the mold. Does anyone know what may happen to the house with the mold?

I had a similar problem with a home that was repoed and sold at auction. What happend is as soon as the bank took possesion of the home they turned on the utilities and when the person moved out they disconnected a fridge water line and did not shut the valve off. The home sat with water leaking for about 2 weeks before anyone knew. The bank hired my company to remove all the damaged material and replace it with good material. The bank ended up paying the cost and then sold the home. Now this was a newer home and the bank could still make good money on the deal. Other situations may call for as is and just auction it off that way.

You can clear mold from a house. You wash all the moldy parts with bleach and that kills the mold.

Mold comes because the house has not had enough ventilation. Especially in winter if you open the heating but dont open the windows just a bit then the warm air on cold walls and windows causes condensation, damp and then mold forms.

You may be able to get the house cheap because of the mold, them you can clear out the mold and either live in the house or redecorate it and sell it at a profit.

Mold comes from too much moisture in the house. Could have had a leak in the foundation, or a flood. Many reasons. Mold can be cleaned up in a bathroom or closets and other areas with bleach. But it will come back so you have to keep cleaning it a couple times a year and get a dehumidifier. This will take the moisture out of the air.
