Deep breathing. That's number one.
Go off outside by yourself, and breathe oxygen, look at the trees and the stars.
Remember that you're doing this to have a fun time.
Remember also that an actress worth her salt usually has nerves before performing. It helps in giving a good performance. When you're out there on the boards, you will lose your nerves and all will be fine.
Believe me, I've been there;-)

Nervousness is normal! It shows that you are ready for that play. Whenever I get nervous before a play, I just tell myself that I know the lines. Don't think about what might go wrong or how big or small the audience might be! Don't eat big before the play and stay hydrated. I drink tons of water to calm my nerves! Take deep breaths and just remember, You're The Star!!!

What has worked for you in the past (through any situation)? Use that again because nothing any of us tell you will work unless you REALLY want our advice. My daughter has the same problem for weeks before a performance and practically drives us out of our minds until that moment she gets on stage and she does what she has to and does it well. Then she says "that wasn't so bad after all". Until then she won't try anything I suggest to help her with her nerves. Some people are more high strung then others. I think you'll do fine as soon as you get out there. Break a leg!!!!

Find a spot backstage where you can be alone or has close to alone as possible. Start doing some stretches and anything else you would normally do for relaxation. Do some tonuge-twisters and massage your jaw and hands. While doing this just think about your characters motivations and concentrate on getting into the mindset of your character. If you're still nervous just remember that nervous energy is still energy and use it to make your character stronger. Most of all, just get out there and have fun!

First of all, don’t stress. It doesn’t help. Also don’t think about needing to calm down it doesn’t help at all. Sit off to the side away from everyone else. Drink water. Breathe. If you want to go through some of you lines to get into character. Your character wouldn’t be nervous so try to imagine what they would be doing. Go through their day in your head. Soon, you won’t think about going on stage.

My choir teacher once told me "if you stop being nervous before a play, you should stop being on stage".
If you find you are still overly nervous before the big day, remember to breathe. Go over your lines. Mingle with your fellow thespians, and laugh it up. Laughing relieves tension.
There is nothing wrong with minor stage fright. But, since you are "acting", you are taking on a different persona. Envelop it, become the character, and KNOW your lines.
Go out there with a big smile, and WOW them!

A cup of warm peppermint tea. It has no caffeine and so it won't make you jumpy. The warm liquid will help warm your vocal cords and the peppermint is a natural relaxant for your digestive system.

Slowly breathe in for the count of 3, breathe out for the count of 6.
Visualize performing perfectly. Then visualize performing perfectly. And visualize performing perfectly. It works if you do it over and over. Builds confidence.
