I'm feeling a little down after workin with the same company for 14 yrs I got fired because a family member got fired. The problem is my boss didn't fire me he had someone else fire me. He has been harrassing me for about 10 yrs. i have rejected his requests the last one being 4 mo ago. I got an attorney but my boss is really playing dirty with me putting threats on my family member unless i drop my case. What are my rights? can anyone help me? i feel so angry that i want to call or write his wife to tell her of his advances..

Continue to work with your attorney and call the police and file a report each time he makes a threat to you. Get him to call your cell phone - that will be a permanent record. If he fires or hurts your family member, you can sue him again or call the police and send him to jail. Keep calling the police, that will rattle his cage.

If you have been reporting the harrassment or if you have witnesses then maybe you have a case that is worth pursuing.

If you have not been reporting the harrassment, then I don't think you have much of a case. If I was on a jury I would think, "hmm... how could this be happening for 10 years and not get reported? Isn't it more likely that she is mad about being fired and making this up to get back at the ex-boss?"

How is he threatening your family? Are you still in contact with him? If so, why? Are there witnesses to the threats? If not, again it is more believable that you are making it up to get back at him.

Sorry, I'm not sold on your case unless there is HARD EVIDENCE.

I've got a solution... lol.. Try calling him and ask him "certain questions, but be careful not to ask the wrong ones". Record the entire conversation. *Forward the tape to your lawyer.
If that doesn't work, then try emailing him asking him those"certain" questions. If he responds, that's awesome. *Save and forward those emails to your lawyer/attorney.

Try talking to other employees about how their relationships with your past boss has been too.
Get ALL the dirt on your ex-boss.
Then, you get a large lawsuit for threatening you and such.

Make sure you can prove what you are saying and stick with your law suit!!
Document everything and don't give up!
Don't make any of those phone calls you spoke of.

Good Luck!

I would suggest that you talk to your lawyer about the threats.
