Have things really changed that much, It use to be hat a recording artist was honored to have their music played on the radio for the promotion benefits. Please let me know.

actually it used to be just the opposite. The record companies would pay the stations to play their music. Called Payola, has been banned, but likely still happens.

i think the radio station gets paid bcuz the artists pay the radio station to put their songs on.....
