Emo is not a stereotype. It is a sub-culture i.e. Gothic, punk, hip-hop... Emo means emotional.

Emo is a culture derived from a club in California. Emo is emotional music that has a story to it. One song example is "Am I Pretty? some of the lyrics are "Am I pretty enough for you? I get nervous when people look at me and you."

Emo kids are dress in black and all that, it's similar to a goth. Have you seen the people of AFI? You know those tight pants, and black clothing and all that? That's emo. And, emo people are usually deppressed, and unhappy. Yeap.. Ive been called a goth :/

Emo kids are depressed, and generally cry, cut themselves. They ware girl pants, and tight black clothing. Some people assume that the way you dress makes you emo.

"emo" stands for emotional...it's kind of like a very depressed goth. It would be the kid who writes poetry, listens to depressing music, wears black, and says "life is pain" though they are usually from middle-class suburbia. The look is very much like "the crow"
