We're discussing this in class, and I've been given the affirmative position on this debate. I can think of a lot of reasons for the opposing side, but not the affirmative.

The problem is, I don't agree with Alberta seperating, I just need some reasons why we should for a debate.

Your best bet would to argue for a commonwealth status under the US. Alberta is primarily seperatist because it's the Canadian money maker and much of its wealth is sent to other part of Canada. In order to be the benefactors of your own work and seperate from Canada you'd have to have US protection, to keep Canada from forcibly trying to keep Alberta as a province. The US threat would probably help this not become a bloody battle. I'm sure you can think of many more reasons Alberta could stand on its own from Quebec.

Well consider how socialism has taken hold in all of Canada, no I personally don't think it would be a good idea...
People raised in socialist systems depend far to much on the government to solve ALL their problems...
We have enough of that sort clown class in this country, we don't need anymore...

Nope.
Canada is a far superior culture, and has a better education, social, and health systems.
Perhaps some of the US states should join Canada.
