American culture was once considered to be a mix of all culture(melting pot). But as we have developed as a nation I think America is growing more of an independant culture than before. American culture is pride, in who you are, what you do and where you came from. American culture is determination, to have a better life and a better world for yourself and for your children. People who come to America can truely consider themselves Americans if they keep that in mind. That's what American culture is to me.

That's a really idiotic thing to say. Everyone has culture. Our culture is younger than, say, German culture, but so is hispanic culture. They're the products of colonization and intermarriage with native populations just as we are. The difference is that our industrial revolution took off running and theirs did not.

Americans are the proud and pretty much sole possessors of something called "the cult of the individual". Puritans. American football. Cartoons. Apple pie. Barbeque. Cowboys. Our language. Our history. Our music. Our movies. Thanksgiving. The Southern Drawl, the Texas Twang, the New England nasal. California. Heavy metal. Hip hop. Ebonics. The American Transcendentalists. The USS Pueblo (still on display in the Inchon Sea). The Trinity Test site. Roswell. The Simpsons. Jessica Simpson. Batman. The Macy's Parade. Tamany Hall. Benjamin Franklin. The Underground Railroad. Upton Sinclair.

You can't define culture, though you can find indicators of it. Tell that somebody that Americans don't live in an ethnic vacuum. The reason it's hard to see American culture is because you're immersed in it. It's like trying to hear your own voice.

That person should grab themself by the ears & pull! America has a very unique and diversified culture. We are a melting pot of everyone who wanted to become an American. Former immigrants brought and implemented bits and pieces of their cultures into the whole of America rather than clinging to their former homes singular culture. They were proud to become Americans, they did not want to "go home" because America was their home. They taught their children to speak only English and learn American ways rather than their former ways. They dressed as Americans, ate American food, bought American products, learned and celebrated American holidays. And yes, they fought for their freedom that they found in America. Because American culture's foundation is freedom. You just have to look around you at the way of life for everyone in America versus other countries to see the differences in culture.
